An ideal starting point
You are very close to any likely excursion destinations. For instance, Bozen is at a distance of 7 km, Meran (with Touriseum and the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle) is 20 km away.
You can easily reach The Messner Mountain Museum of Reinhold Messner, our famous extreme climber, in 15 minutes by bike. He will be there to speak to you, in the ancient walls of Sigmundskron Castle, about the meaning of mountains for man, about art and the history of mountain climbing. South Tyrol’s Museum of Archaeology, which houses Ötzi (The Man from the Ice), is close by.
The Dolomites (there are tours of the Dolomites for motor cyclists and hikers) are about half an hour away by car. Lake Garda is about 80 km away, Romeo and Julia’s balcony in Verona is 120 km away. Venice with its lagoons is at a distance of about 200 km.
The Christmas markets in the vicinity are very popular. Bruneck, Brixen, Meran, Trient and especially Bozen offer any number of shopping facilities and the opportunity for a stroll through a town.
